What is EasyWider?

EasyWider is a site dedicated to all things Wide Format — both for technical documents and graphic arts. I’ll be covering products, technology developments, and industry trends. In addition, you can expect user tips — for working with wide format systems and documents.

But it’s also meant to be an “Education Center” for everyone in wide format, especially for newcomers to the industry — to help them understand what the business is and the basics of wide format. So you can expect to see mini-courses and guides on all kinds of wide format topics.

Key starting point

If you’re new to the wide format business, in any capacity, I highly recommend you begin here: a “A Newcomer’s Guide to Wide Format”.Newcomer's Guide to Wide Format Markets cover

Who this site is for?

Anyone involved with wide format, including:

  • Users. Anyone printing, scanning, or making copies of wide format documents. If it weren’t for these users, none of the rest of us would be here and this site wouldn’t exist!
  • Sales reps. Anyone selling wide format products or prints needs to understand their customer’s business — what they do and their needs. This includes print shop front counter personnel, sales representatives calling on customers, managers, and technical analysts.
  • Service and support personnel. Service personnel visit customers at least as often as sales reps. Extending their understanding of a customer’s business, needs, and wants can greatly improve customer satisfaction and help lead to future sales.
  • Print operators. Anyone producing prints for commercial resale or for internal use will benefit greatly by understanding what their real customers (the document users) are looking for.
  • Graphic designers. They need to know a customer’s needs and applications in order to create attractive, effective, and efficient designs that customers will love (and come back for more).
